Summary:

Milk price formation and dairy farms income structure are analized in the province of Lugo. Significative differences are observed for monthly milk production, received and basic prices, quality bonus and income by quality bonus between the periods of fall‑winter and spring‑summer. On the other hand other bonus and their correspondent incomes, as well as incomes from received and basic prices, remain unchanged. The stability of the farm income, that is to say the producer "salary", is due to the higher basic price in fall‑winter, with lower production and better chemical quality, and strong participation of incomes from other bonus in comparison with those due to milk quality.
