Summary:

Influence of different sweet cherry rootstocks in the agronomic behaviour and fruit quality of the varieties ‘Summit’ and ‘Sunburst’ The aim of this work was to evaluate the agronomic and quality behaviour of the ‘Sunburst’ and ‘Summit’ sweet cherry varieties on some interesting rootstocks in the Jerte Valley. To achieve this objective were determined the following parameters: accumulated yield, active growth rate (TCA) and accumulated productivity as agronomic parameters: weight, size, category, firmness, skin and flesh colour, titratable acidity and maturity rate as quality ones. The results showed that the Cab 11E and Cab 6P rootstocks had the highest accumulate yields for both varieties. However, the best weight, size and category were obtained with Reboldo. The Gisela 5 rootstock showed the most firm sweet cherries in both cases, which gives a good fitness for transport. The best quality sweet cherries were obtained with the rootstock Reboldo for ‘Sunburst’ and Tabel Edabriz for ‘Summit’.
